PlanetCRuSH Cyber Wellness Centre Official Opening

On the 5th of august 2006 the Planet Crush Cyber wellness center was officially opened to the public by our guest of honor, Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee.

The morning began with a ceremony where the guest of honor had a friendly game of virtual soccer with our Executive Director Mr. Eugene Seow as part of our Family E-Sports Tournament.

During the opening A/P Ho, 22 VIPs and 20 teachers participated in of one of our programs called “Bridging Generations Through the Internet” (BGTI). We demonstrated and taught these participants how exciting the PC game “Counter-strike” is for the youth. There was lots of fun and shouting as the participants “kill” and got “killed” by each other. They all left with a greater understanding of the attraction of such games.

For the entire day, the Family E-sports Tournament ran concurrently. A total of 88 youth and adults took part in this tournament. In addition there were special appearances by some of Singapore’s top gamers. The tournament participants were invited to challenge some of these gamers at their favourite games.

While the tournament was going on, there were on-going previews of our cyber wellness programs. Peak Performance for Cyber Gaming (PPCG) as well as some of our latest techno-dramas were presented.

At the end of the day, many sectors of the community, from the primary school student, to the university professor, were reached by our cyber wellness message.
