| Where I was before… |
| Since we moved to a new neighbourhood last year, my son lost
contact with a group of his old friends. Because he did not
make many friends in school, he turned to computer games whenever
he was bored. It got so bad that he would play through the night,
neglect his studies, and even became violent when I tried to
stop him. During this time, he didn’t talk or smile much.
I felt lost and helpless and started looking around for help.
I then came to know about TOUCH Cyber Wellness
and began to work closely with them in order to help my son.

| Turning point… |
| The staff and volunteers there helped my son to understand
his motivations for gaming and taught him how to overcome it
through individual counselling. As part of group therapy, they
put him through a mentoring programme that helped him achieve
balance in gaming. They also provided a strong social support
for my son to adapt to his new neighbourhood. |
| Where I am today… |
| Nowadays, my son only plays computer games when he is at the
Cyber Wellness Centre. He has started to help out with some
simple work at the Centre, and for the first time, volunteered
to visit and clean an elderly’s home. He has also made
many new friends at the Centre and is a much happier boy now. |
